Overview

Di believes in and values the dignity of every human being through proactive diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging action. This drives her passion for living encouragement, justice, truth, and wellness perspectives. Di serves as the Chief Encouraging Officer of the Encouraging Works Inc. enterprise based in Winnipeg. She provides private sector, public sector and not-for-profit organizations with support and guidance aimed at nurturing positive, encouraging and well people and work environments. Di provides individuals and teams with coaching and mentoring support aimed at personal and professional development. Human resources, leadership, strategy and change advisory services are encompassed in these offerings with a focus on supporting the realization of organizational wellness and outcomes. Prior to this Di was a Partner and Market Director with global consulting firm Aon Hewitt for 21 years and served as an HR leader for an agribusiness firm.

Di has extensive knowledge and hands-on skills as a practitioner and advisor/consultant in HR, leadership and business including: serving as a sounding board/confidante, coaching and mentoring with individuals and teams, workplace investigations/assessments, organizational strategic planning and realignment strategy, HR strategy and planning, people and organizational leadership reviews, HR/leadership research, HR policies and processes, pensions, benefits, attendance/disability management, employee rewards/compensation/recognition programs, total rewards and compensation philosophy, executive compensation, pay equity, job documentation and job evaluation, role profiling, pay-for-performance, salary administration, compensation surveys, variable pay plans, HR information management systems, payroll, recruitment and selection, employment equity and diversity, employee communications, employee engagement, culture alignment, competencies, performance management, change leadership, employee/labour relations, training, facilitation, team building, termination/layoff/unjust dismissal, and sensitive employee matters.

Di has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba, a certificate and advanced certificate in HR Management from the University of Manitoba and the CPHR Manitoba, a Certificate in Employee Benefits (CEB) from Humber College and a Competent Toastmaster (CTM) designation from Toastmasters International. She is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), holds the International Personnel Management Association Advanced Certified Professional (IPMA-ACP) designation and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation. Di is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) through World at Work. She completed: The Living and Leading Change: The Change Leader’s Certificate Program through Turner Change Management/QNet, the Certified Coach Training Program through Destination Leadership and Levels 1and 2 of the training program Harassment Investigation, Hill Advisory Services. Di completed theology education/ training and Indigenous Awareness training. She was ordained into holy orders to serve as a deacon, The Anglican Church of Canada and is acknowledged as The Reverend Deacon Di Panting.

Di is a past President of CPHR Manitoba (formerly Human Resource Management Association of Manitoba) and past Board member, Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA), past member of the Advisory Committee for the Canadian Aboriginal Human Resources Management Association (CAHRMA), Founding and Past President of IHRIM Canada West (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia) of the International Association for HR Information Management (IHRIM – HR technology) and as well served as the Secretary on the Executive Committee for the International Board of Directors. Di is also a member of QNET and The Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM) where she serves on the Prairie Regional Council and has been a member of 100 Women Who Care Winnipeg and The Associates.

She is also past Chairperson of the Manitoba Region/ past National Executive Committee member of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute, current member of SHRM, the International Personnel Management Association – Canada (IPMA) and World at Work, past Chair of the HR Management Advisory Committee at Red River College and served as a member of the Human Resources Committee and Staff Support Committee of the Diocese of Rupert’s Land. She served as a trustee for the United Way of Winnipeg Employee Benefits Program. Di currently serves as the Deacon Assistant to the Bishop for Human Resources Development for the Diocese of Rupert’s Land and as Deacon Assistant at Good Shepherd parish. She served as the Co-Chair of the Board of St. Matthew’s-Maryland Community Ministry and served on the Advisory Team. Di was one of a group of community members featured in the Leadership Winnipeg “Inspire, Influence, Invest – A Profile of Community Leadership” Volume IV. Di was a member of the cast of the 2016 production of The Vicar of Dibley which was presented in support of St. Matthew’s- Maryland Community Ministry and the Manitoba Association of Playwrights. Di serves as a member of the Diaconal Ministry/Priestly Ministry Teams, Diocese of Rupert’s Land.
